Universal Switches to Date Base Tickets


Universal Orlando has rolled out a new date-based ticket system, meaning the day you go to a theme park could affect how much your visit could cost.


Universal confirmed a news today, saying the new system offers varied prices for guests planning their vacations. Hopeful park-goers will find ticket prices based on specific dates, much like Walt Disney World's date-based ticket program.

Q: When will date-based pricing going live?

A: Date-based pricing is currently slated to go live on August 18, 2020.


Q: How do I upgrade or change a ticket?

A: If you wish to upgrade your ticket, please contact us so we can discuss available options with you. You may also make changes through Universal Orlando Resort directly by visiting any ticket or Guest Services window at our three theme parks or Universal CityWalk, or by calling (877) 801-9720. You may also make changes via the “Guest Self Service” feature in the Official Universal Orlando Resort App.


Please note that if you make any changes to your ticket(s) at the resort or through the app,

your ticket will NOT be eligible for any further changes through Dream Vacation Maker.


Q: Will my tickets expire?

A: Yes, each ticket has an expiration date that is determined on based on the ticket type.

Universal Orlando tickets purchased on or after August 18, 2020 now require a start date for

admission and are valid beginning on that start date through a validity window. Guests who are not sure when they plan to visit may take advantage of flex ticket products which are valid for one year after they are printed or electronically generated. If you are unable to use your ticket prior to its expiration, please contact us at Dream Vacation Maker to make an adjustment.


Alternatively, you can adjust the dates of your ticket in the Official Universal Orlando Resort

App. If there is a greater price for the new arrival date, you will be responsible for paying the

difference. It is very important that you make any updates to your travel dates prior to the

expiration date for your tickets.


Q: Will tickets purchased prior to 8/18/2020 still be valid?

A: Yes, all tickets purchased prior to 8/18/2020 and the rollout of date-based pricing will still be valid. Please note that all tickets remain subject to the conditions and entitlements such as blockout dates, and expiration, etc. at the time of the purchase.


Q: Will current promotional tickets be changed to date based?

A: No, current promotional ticket offers will not be date-based.


Q: What is the benefit of a mobile ticket?

A: Mobile tickets have the same functionality and entitlements as a physical ticket, and gives

you the convenience of having your ticket on your mobile device so that you can go straight to the entrance of the parks without having to stop to pick up a physical ticket. For extra

convenience, you may also add your mobile ticket to your wallet within the Official Universal

Orlando Resort App for easy access.


Q: How far in advance can a ticket be purchased?

A: Currently, Guests can purchase tickets valid through 12/31/2021. Please note that ticket

prices are subject to change as Universal is always evaluating their offerings.
