Universal Orlando Updates for 2022

2022 looks to be another huge year at Universal Orlando with events, attraction updates, and more.

  • Universal is excited to announce a new Quiet Room opening today in Universal Studios Florida for our Guests who need a quiet, low-stimulation place to take a break from the noise and crowds of the parks. This room is located at the front of the park next to the Studio Audience Center.



  • Universal Studios Florida’s Revenge of the Mummy is now closed for a refurbishment through the end of summer.


  • Shrek 4 D has officially closed.


  • Universal’s Mardi Gras runs daily from February 5 through April 24 with parades and some southern food. Concerts are back with performances on select weekends



  • Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando, is a Food and Beverage Gift Card and Lanyard. This replaces the tasting lanyard from prior Mardi Gras events.

  • 🐊 Pay $65 for a $75 Food & Beverage Card and Lanyard

  • 🍤 Pay $120 for a $150 Food & Beverage Card and Lanyard

  • 🥘 Can be used at any Food & Beverage location


  • Universal Resorts Loews Portofino Bay Club-Level Lounge is not open and fully renovated


  • The kitchen at hard Rock will be renovated from April 18th through July 11th, so breakfast, lunch and dinner will be available in velvet bar


SEASONAL EVENTS

  • Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights is returning for its 31st year in 2022 with new houses, scare zones, and shows.



  • Universal Orlando’s holiday offerings will return in 2022 with a holiday parade featuring Macy’s balloons, a stage show retelling How The Grinch Stole Christmas, special holiday versions of Wizarding World shows, Christmas concerts, festive decorations, and more!


COMING IN the near future

  • A new Minions-based attraction is opening in the former location of Shrek 4D that will take guests into the wacky Villain-Con. Guests will be able to test the crazy gadgets featured at the convention in the movie.



  • Fear Factor Live has closed for a new attraction – an expansion to London and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.


  • Universal’s third theme park, Epic Universe. Rumored to open in 2025, this new park will feature some of the world’s best-themed environments based on Nintendo, Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon, and Universal’s Classic Monsters.
